About the Speaker
Dr. Markey is a licensed psychologist in private practice. She received her Masters in Education from Harvard University where she focused on the psychosocial development of children and adolescents, the nature of risk and resiliency, and the precarious line between prevention and intervention. Later, she received her doctoral degree from Suffolk University where she continued to gain an appreciation for developmental psychopathology and the importance of dialectical approaches to treatment. She brings a breadth of clinical and research training experiences to her practice, including post-doctoral training on the Professionals in Crisis Unit at Menninger Clinic, internship through Baylor College of Medicine, and additional research and training experiences at Massachusetts General Hospital, Edith Nourse Veteran’s Administration Hospital, Tufts University Counseling Center, McLean Hospital, Judge Bakers Children Center, and the Children’s Hospital in Boston.  She is currently a second year academic candidate in the Studies in Psychoanalytic Thinking Program at the Houston Galveston Psychoanalytic Institute.
